Easter Sunday...

Easter came and went by quickly this year. I had to work the Friday and Saturday night before Easter, so needless to say, the whole weekend was a bit of a blur to me. I made an Easter Bunny cake with my kiddos on Thursday afternoon before Easter. Brent colored eggs with them on Friday night when I was working. :( little bummer. But, they took pictures and he texted me one which made me smile while working. Easter Sunday morning I was exhausted or comatosed whichever you prefer. So, I came home from work and crashed. I missed the Easter egg hunt for eggs in the yard. Brent took some pics though. Hence, the kids in their sweet combos of jammies and flips flops or tennis shoes! Love it!! Can always tell when dads dress their kids. Brent attempted to take the kids to Mass and I slept a couple hours. Then we drove to Liberty to have Easter dinner at my sister's house with some of our family. Good day overall!!

My dad and Susie came the weekend before and we had a nice day with them. They brought the kid's baskets that day. We had yummy Mexican food and for dessert...Chocolate bunnies! YUM!!
We didn't get to see Brent's parents this year for Easter because his mom was in Arizona staying with her ailing aunt. We sure missed them!! Easter is always fun with grammy!!

March Snow...

We had a late winter snow storm this year. We only got around three and half inches in Lenexa. My parents who live about four hours west of Kansas City got around 15 inches!! But, the snowflakes were huge and of course my kids (and husband) had a blast playing in it! It was the perfect snow to build a snowman. So, that's what they did....they built a snowman...an eight foot snowman!! Enjoy!!

Skiing in Crested Butte...

Brent and I went skiing in Crested Butte, Colorado last week. We went with my two sisters and their husbands as well as a good friend of mine and her husband. We had the best time! The snow was amazing, it snowed close to 1o inches while we were there. I have never skiied on such fresh powder. We skiied all day for two days and went out for dinner and drinks in the evenings. The kids went to the grandparent's houses while we were gone. We think we will take them skiing next year with us. I think Cameron and Landon will be old enough and I think they will love it! I am already looking forward to our trip next year. I'll post a couple shots of our trip to the mountains.

Landon turns three...

We celebrated Landon's 3rd birthday on Saturday. A little early this year since his actual birthday falls on a Tuesday. We went with a Spiderman theme this year. The weather was around 60 degrees for his party. So, we barbequed and had fun outside. Landon loved all his presents. He is very into his "boy" toys like trains, transformers, and superheros now instead of Cameron's barbies!! Woohoo for that! :)

He got a bike from Brent and I. My sister April helped him for his first ride, but I think April did all the pushing and Landon just enjoyed the ride!! He hasn't quite grasped the idea of pushing the pedals. Both of the kids having bikes will be nice when Spring rolls around because we go for lots of bike rides.

I made the cake again this year. I love making the kids' birthday cakes. I just saw a picture of a cake online and copied it. It turned out ok. Landon loved it and that was all that mattered to me!! I can't believe my little baby boy is three!! But, he still feels like my baby, probably because he is wearing diapers still!! Ha!!

A Snow Day...

Thought I would post some pictures of the kids playing in the snow last week. It was only around 17 degrees but they were begging to go out and play. So, I layered and bundled them up and they had a ball! Enjoy!!

2009 in Full Swing...

2009 is off to a good start. Cameron is back in preschool 3 afternoons a week after her Christmas Break. She is so happy to back in school. The kids loves school and wishes everyday was school. I hope she always thinks this way!! :) Landon and I joined Cameron at her school last Friday for a small in-school field trip. Landon was so good and well behaved. He sat like a good boy and paid attention. He danced and sang with Cameron and all her friends! It was quite the sight.

More about Landon....he still has absolutely NO interest in the potty. You ask "Landon, do you want to sit on the potty?" and he yells loudly "NO POTTY!!!" I guess he is not ready yet. Such a difference than Cameron. She showed interest before she was two and was completely potty trained a couple months after she turned two. They say boys are harder with this and at this point, I couldn't agree more!! I don't want to pressure him but seriously we are tired of buying diapers and changing them on this big boy!! Hope the next few months bring some change in this area!!

Brent is still working at the bank. He plans to start landscaping in the Spring. I took a more permanent position at one of the hospitals I work at. I will be working part-time nights and will get full-time benefits!! YEAH!! I am healing nicely from my minor surgery I had at the end of December. I just can't lift anything over 30 pounds for another 4 weeks. That means I can't pick up Landon. I miss that alot and so does he! He is my snuggler and we both love our snuggle time!!

We are big supporters of Jayhawk Basketball so we bought Cameron a cheerleading outfit. She wears it for most of the KU games and really wears it almost everyday at some point or another. Thought I would include some shots of our little cheerleader!!

Christmas 2008...

We had a great Christmas this year!! We first went to my mom and Doug's the weekend before Christmas and celebrated there. All of us kids and our families were there and it was a really good day. The kids played and played with their cousins. While the kids were playing upstairs, there was a loud knock at the door and a loud "HO HO HO" and before we could get the kids downstairs, Santa was gone and there was a big gift for everyone on the front porch. That Santa is quick!! :) The kids were amazed and super excited. They had a ball opening all their presents.

We went to my in-laws on Christmas Eve. We went to Christmas Eve Mass when we got there. It was a very nice Mass and Cameron and Landon got to go with grammy to the children's liturgy. Cameron always enjoys this. They also got to be part of the beginning processional where they each brought hay to lay in Jesus' manger. It was really cute. We then spent the evening enjoying family and eating and eating some more!! When we woke the next morning, grammy and grandpa's living room was filled with presents and there were stuffed stocking throughout the house. Again, that Santa is sneaky!! The kids were once again amazed and excited!!

We drove back to KC on Christmas. We got home about 8pm. Before we left on Christmas Eve day, Cameron sat some cookies and milk out for Santa and even left Rudolph a carrot (her idea). So, there was much anticipation on the whole way home if Santa had come to our house while we were gone. And, he did!!!! We let Cameron open the door to the house and her jaw dropped to the floor in amazement again. It was so funny! That darn Santa even left the fireplace doors open after he left!! Cameron is still baffled that Santa can get up and down the chimney. So, they opened more gifts and played and played some more.

Brent and I are very blessed with our healthy, adorable children and our dependable families. My heart was a little heavy on Christmas Day so I drove to my grandma's grave to visit with her. I was really missing her. So, I went and wished her a Merry Christmas, cried and told her how much I missed her, and left her a little note. It was quite the peaceful visit.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season!!
